Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley

Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, M.D. M.P.H., chief medical advisor at CAI, is a highly respected media expert in reproductive and sexual health, a practicing OB-GYN and a public health leader. She is the CEO of Power to Decide, a nonpartisan nonprofit whose mission is to advance reproductive well-being and ensure that all people have the power to decide if, when and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child.Power to Decide operates Bedsider, the nation’s go-to resource on birth control, and AbortionFinder features the most comprehensive directory of verified abortion providers and assistance resources in the U.S.

Dr. Raegan previously served as chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists;a  fellow of the third class of the Health Innovators Fellowship; and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She is also a steering committee member of the Free the Pill Working Group.

Dr. Raegan is a recipient of Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 Award. She is a frequent speaker at medical conferences and leadership convenings, and is a trusted source for national media outlets — from NPR to USA Today to MTV. Using #AskDrRaegan, she provides candid sexual health information to young people on social media, with more than 3M views on TikTok to date.

Over-the-counter contraception campaign:

For more than a decade, Dr. Raegan has been at the forefront of the campaign to expand over-the-counter access to oral contraception, without restrictions and affordable for all.  She is a long-time member of the Steering Committee of the Free The Pill coalition and is the Chief Medical Advisor for CAI.

Dr. Raegan led the convening of the Medical Experts committee, a group of leading medical and public health experts that are a resource for journalists covering safety and health issues concerning oral contraception.

She is a regular speaker at convenings and virtual panel discussions that explore contraceptive issues, including over-the-counter access, such as the American Medical Association; Aspen Ideas: Health; Aspen Global Leadership Network; the Families USA Health Action Conference; Ms. Magazine; and the Society for Family Planning’s annual conference.
